Join Us
The choir is open to all who enjoy choral music, are keen to participate in choral singing and to improve their singing. Much of our repertoire is drawn from the Christian church tradition, but we welcome members of all faiths and none.

Who can join
We welcome singers who want to contribute to a well‑prepared, supportive choir. We do not audition but, to keep rehearsals efficient and enjoyable, we look for the following:
-
Ability to sing in tune and maintain accurate rhythm.
-
Ability to follow a score (basic reading of musical notation).
-
Confidence to hold your part in four‑part harmony.
-
Sight‑singing is not required.
Between rehearsals, many members use online rehearsal aids; we’ll point you to recommended resources.
When we cannot offer you a place at the time of your application, your name may be added to a list of interested enquirers.
Subscriptions and concessions (2025–26)
Choose a payment option that suits you: £144 per year, £48 per term, or £12 per month. Members are generally expected to buy their own scores, which the Society usually purchases in bulk at discounted rates.
Try two rehearsals first; you are welcome to attend two rehearsals free of charge before deciding whether to join.
Concessions:
-
Under‑30s pay 50% of the subscription
-
Members receiving Universal Credit or similar benefits pay £2.50 per month and may borrow scores free of charge.
-
If you’re experiencing financial hardship, you may contact the Treasurer confidentially (treasurer@lowerwindrush.org); further concessions may be possible.
